Like all colleges in the sector, Winstanley College has a Board of Governors entrusted with the task of overseeing the management and direction of the institution. Governors meet formally twice a term as a full Governing Body and also in sub committees of the Board.

The Board comprises individuals who have an interest in the college i.e. parents, staff and students as well as other stakeholders recruited from different spheres of the local community.

The Clerk to the Governors is Charlotte Fitch and any requests for information about becoming a governor or accessing information about the governance of the college should be addressed to the clerk in the first instance.

In the interests of openness and transparency the information held on this site may be of interest to staff, parents or other stakeholders who wish to know more about the operations of the Governing Body at Winstanley College.

Winstanley College Board of Governors is looking to recruit committed and exciting individuals to join the Board and become part of a strategic team responsible for a multi million pound budget. The Board oversees the Mission of the College ‘to achieve academic excellence for 16 - 19 year olds in a supportive and challenging learning environment.’

This role represents both a personal development opportunity and an opportunity to influence decision making at local level as the College is well placed in its community.

If you become a governor, the College offers the chance to work with a diverse group of people from varying disciplines. There will be opportunities to acquire new skills, use your existing skills and be involved in re-shaping opportunities as the College looks to develop its site and curriculum offer.
